Mental Health Activism and Advocacy -- an unmoderated list. This list is for people who have experienced publicly funded mental health services and are working for changes in the system. There is one cardinal rule on the list -- no personal attacks. What this means is that disagreeing with someone's opinion is acceptable, but name calling or otherwise 'flaming' the other person is not. Saying "that is a stupid idea" is rude but acceptable; saying "you are and idiot for thinking that" is both rude and unacceptable. Persons breaking this rule will be placed on moderation by the list owner, at her discretion. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the Actmad Archives. Using Actmad
To post a message to all the list members, send email to actmad@actmad.net. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Actmad
Subscribe to Actmad by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
